Community Waste Project is a pioneering new facility opened by a group of Bali-based businesses inspired by a zero-waste vision
Together for a Zero-Waste Bali

Bali's waste infrastructure is under huge pressure, with landfills overflowing and illegal dumping blighting the natural environment.

The new facility aims to turn the tide towards responsible waste solutions. By collecting and processing the waste from all contributing businesses, we dramatically reduce the amount sent to landfill.

Average of hospitality waste sent to landfill sites in Bali

Currently, hospitality businesses send around 50% of their waste to landfill sites.

Through proper waste management and by practicing good discipline, Community Waste Project helps partner businesses reduce this figure to as little as 5%, while providing them with an opportunity to become leaders in regenerative tourism.

By transforming trash into products designed for the hospitality industry, the project supports a circular model where all members can buy these essential products at cost price.

In addition, the project is a non-profit, and part of the income generated from its operation will be distributed to the local Banjar as social funds.

Community Waste Project is a collective of Bali-based businesses inspired by a zero-waste vision: Mexicola Group, Potato Head Family, and Total Bangun Persada in collaboration with Brunch Club, Finns, Kynd, Lemongrass, and Peppers Seminyak.
